An eight-evening course with Ted Staunton
Mondays, March 8—May 3, 2010 (no class on April 5th), 6 pm - 8 pm

Join Canadian children’s author Ted Staunton to develop and discuss your own writing projects with fellow writers in a workshop setting.  The course includes optional assignments, reading, and practical information chosen to help you experience the range of material and techniques in writing for children, from picture books to teen novels to non-fiction.
 
Also learn about resources for writers, the business of publishing, and a kaleidoscope of books and authors that make great reads for you as well as kids.

An invitation from Farley Mowat began Leanne Allison's and Karsten Heuer's journey overland from Calgary to Cape Breton.

Port Hope Public Library is very pleased to present the NFB film Finding Farley, which follows the couple and their two-year-old son as they retrace the iconic writer's literary footsteps from Owls in the Family to People of the Deer

Also on the bill is Runaway, a Cannes Film Festival award-winning animated short that takes the viewer on a journey that is both funny and disastrous.  See the trailer here.

The evening begins with a reception at 7 pm, with special guests Claire and Farley Mowat, followed by the films.

Seating is limited, so please come early to claim your space.
